My Review of the Sugar Mettle Liquid Lipstick:

Liquid lipsticks have never worked for me. All the liquid lipsticks I own either have terrible formulation or do not suit my skin tone. From drugstore brands to high-end brands, I have tried them all only to be disappointed. And yet, I just do not give up on them. So when I was heading into a mall on a beautiful pre-COVID19 day and noticed a well-lit make-up outlet of a brand that was new to me, I could not stop myself. I walked into that beautiful Sugar Cosmetics outlet and headed straight to the lipstick section. The smart saleswoman was quick to point me to their then-new launch (obviously high-end!).  It was a beautiful warm plum shade that caught my eye. The formula was thin and applied well. On an impulse, I bought the lipstick.

On the ride home I worried about the fact that I had spent an exorbitant amount on lipstick by a brand which I had not even heard of. And to top that, it was a liquid lipstick too. When would I learn?! Over the next few weeks, I used the lipstick multiple times. To my surprise, it was a wonderful lipstick and I faced no problems while using it. Here’s what worked for me:

Formulation:

The lipstick is thin and makes the application a breeze. It is extremely lightweight. Once you apply it you forget that you have lipstick on. It dries within two minutes of application and does not dry out your lips a lot. That being said, prepping your lips with a scrub and lip balm before applying any liquid lipstick would only enhance the look and keep your lips moisturized. Another plus point is that these lipsticks hardly have a scent.

Wear:

The longevity of this lipstick is great. It is transfer-proof and lasts about 5-6 hours without fading off in patches.

Pigmentation:

A little can go a long way with these lipsticks as they are extremely pigmented. After 7-8 hours of wear, they leave your lips slightly tinted, even as the lipstick starts to fade.

Shade:

08-Alcor is a beautiful plum shade. It is warm and is a mauve-nude for my skin tone. It is suitable for both a formal setting and also a party setting. The swatch of the lipstick is given below.

Tried and tested this colour today . Just as per your review it lasted long for more than 5 hours. I just had to lightly apply..and It instantly dried. Less patchy than most liquid lipstick i tried.
